Scheda di Yvonne:
Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski was educated at University of Western Sydney’s Theatre Nepean, where she graduated with a degree in arts in performance. She launched her career in Australia, appearing in various television series and films. In 2004, Strahovski appeared in Double the Fist, and in 2006 played Freya Lewis in Headland. In 2007, she was cast for the role of Sarah Walker on the NBC series, Chuck where she is a top CIA agent who is partnered with Chuck Bartowski.
Yvonne talks about working with Nadia Tass: “Nadia is such an actors director, and she has an utmost respect for an actor’s process. It’s so rare to find and she really honours that. I feel very blessed to be working with Nadia.”
La trama del film:
Life seems idyllic for Marisa (Jacinda Barrett) and her son, Jack (Tom Russell), until a poor performance at a school soccer match ends with Jack in hospital and Marisa trying to find her husband, David (Richard Roxburgh), who is interstate at a conference. In fact, David is planning to leave Marisa for his current mistress (Yvonne Strahovski), with his phone off and not a care in the world.
Jack is diagnosed with leukaemia and the only possibility of a cure is if David has had a child from one of his many flings who could be a bone marrow donor. So Marisa looks back through his diaries, figures when he could have been having affairs, and goes out door knocking. Unsuspecting women face a desperate mother as Marisa searches high and low for possibilities and the full scale of David’s infidelity is revealed.
Meanwhile, Jack befriends Finn (Kodi Smit-McPhee) a young Irish boy in the next bed. He has been travelling the world with his father, Connor (James Nesbitt). Initial disdain turns to mutual respect as both Marisa and Connor find their own ways to deal with their respective sons’ illnesses.
MATCHING JACK beautifully captures the power of love and the resilience of the human spirit…with a gentle and uplifting ending, that hints at a future full of hope.
Intervista realizzata a Melbourne e pubblicata il 18 maggio:
The Sydney actress, who also stars in Chuck, has well-known Friends
Flashback to last June and Yvonne Strahovski, 27, is lunching on prawns and salad on the East Brighton, Melbourne, set of the comedy I Love You Too with writer and co-star Peter Helliar and WHO senior editor Simone Casey. Born and raised in Sydney, Strahovski has flown in from Los Angeles while on hiatus from her role in the hit US series Chuck (Season 3 returns to Fox8 in July). “We got her at a good time,” says Helliar. “Her role [as star Brendan Cowell's English girlfriend, Alice] doesn’t have as many punch-lines as everyone else – she had to find her moments, and she has.”
You’re pretty settled in Los Angeles.
Yeah, now I’ve got my own place, and my parents actually moved over. My parents [Peter and Bozena] left Poland, came to Australia, had me and there was only ever the three of us together. They’ve got a very young vibe, they hang out with my friends when I’m not around. It’s hard for them. LA isn’t the most sympathetic town – it’s not like Melbourne or Sydney where there’s a central city and it’s friendly. It’s really spread out.
